Wisconsin State Representative Tom Tiffany has voiced his belief that biological men should not be permitted to participate in girls' sports. He asserts that the efforts of Democrats and Governor Evers are aimed at eradicating women's sports in Wisconsin.

"Biological men should NOT compete in girl's sports," said U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wi), according to X. "Why are Democrats and Governor Evers trying to erase women's sports in Wisconsin?"

Tiffany's remarks were a reaction to a post by Governor Tony Evers, which read, "BREAKING: I just vetoed Republicans’ anti-LGBTQ bill to ban trans and gender nonconforming kids from participating in school sports teams that align with their gender identity. LGBTQ kids deserve our love and respect and support just like any other kid."

Governor Evers recently vetoed Assembly Bill (AB) 377, legislation designed to prevent transgender and gender nonconforming youth from participating in school sports based on their gender identity. Throughout his tenure, Evers has consistently opposed and vetoed multiple bills concerning transgender youth and athletes. Furthermore, he has vetoed bills limiting LGBTQ education in schools and gender-affirming care for minor patients with gender dysphoria, according to a press release issued by his office.

Assembly Bill 377 was introduced by Representatives Dittrich, Rettinger, Callahan among others. The bill proposes amendments to statutes related to the designation of athletic sports and teams in public and private schools participating in parental choice programs, based on the participants' gender, as per information available on Wisconsin.gov.

Representative Tiffany represents Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District. He was elected during a special election held in May 2020. A native of the district, Tiffany grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin. He holds a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Prior to Congress, Tiffany served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate where he focused on tax reduction, job creation, and protection of 2nd Amendment rights as detailed in his biography provided by the House.
