Tiffany Announces Winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition

WAUSAU, WI – Today, Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) announced the winners of Wisconsin's Seventh District 2024 Congressional Art Competition. The theme chosen for this year’s competition was: A day in the life of Wisconsin.

Congressman Tiffany expressed his admiration for the young artists in the Seventh District, stating, "Every year, I am amazed by the talented young artists in the Seventh District. Congratulations to those who placed in the top three, the honorable mentions, and a huge thank you to all thirty-two students who submitted pieces this year."

The winners of the competition were announced as follows:

- First Place Winner: Aila Laakso from Superior High School with the artwork titled "The Beauty of Wisconsin."

- Second Place Winner: Aselin Olson from Shell Lake High School with the artwork titled "Success."

- Third Place Winner: Nicholas Gonzalez from Prentice High School with the artwork titled "Revaluation of a John Deere."

- Honorable Mention: Matthew Schmidt from Prentice High School with the artwork titled "The Beauty of New Life."

- Honorable Mention: Emma Chandler from HomeLife Academy with the artwork titled "Autumn Sunrise in the Northwoods."

The first-place winner's artwork will be displayed in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel, leading to the U.S. Capitol. Southwest Airlines will provide each first-place winner with two round-trip tickets to attend a reception in Washington, DC. The second-place winner's artwork will be displayed in Congressman Tiffany's Washington, DC office, while the third-place winner's artwork will be displayed in his Wausau office.

The Congressional Art Competition continues to provide young artists with a platform to showcase their talents and creativity on a national scale.
